Filters for use with OVID Web

Step 1

First, you must be logged onto Ovid Web and at the main search screen.
If you are not, click 'Ovid Web' in the left hand frame. After reaching the main search screen, click 'Ovid Web - filters' again to return to this page.

Step 2

Second, use your mouse to highlight all terms in the filter you would like to use.
Then press 'Ctrl and 'c' at the same time to copy the terms.

Systematic Reviews: Treatment: Diagnosis:
Etiology:                    Prognosis: Adverse effects:
Steroids:                    CHF:         Physical exam:
(If you are looking for systematic reviews consider DARE first)
Complete filter (better, but slower)

Single best search term (not as good, but faster)

Step 3

Click the 'Back' button on your browser, or the button below to return to Ovid Web.
Once you are back into Ovid Web, you will need to click your mouse in the box where terms are entered.
Then press 'Ctrl and 'v' at the same time to 'paste' the terms.
Click the green pill "Perform Search" button.
Do not forget, while the filter is the only line showing on your search history, to click the green ball "Save Search History" to save the filter (click "permanently") and not have to do this again.

If you found loading these filters to be a painful experience, I urge you to email Support@Ovid.com. Tell Ovid that they should incorporate these filters into the "Web version".
